Theme Settings - General
Overview
This page covers everything inside the main Theme Settings screen. It's organised into tabs along the top - General, Footer, Layout, License, Demo Setup. The sibling sub-pages Colors and Strings live underneath in the WP admin sidebar and have their own dedicated pages.
Find it under Theme Settings in the WP admin sidebar.
General tab
The most-touched tab - branding, fonts, the affiliate link prefix, the disclosure copy, social profiles, slug overrides, archive pages, analytics.
Branding
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Site logo | Shown in the header. Recommended 240×60px @2x = 480×120px SVG or PNG with transparency. |
| Color Theme | Dropdown that picks the active color palette - Default, Dark, Bubblegum, and any custom themes you've added. The individual variable overrides live on the Colors sub-page. |
Affiliate
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Affiliate Link Prefix | The first URL segment for all cloaked affiliate links - default visit, giving pretty URLs like /visit/{slug}/. Change to go, out, to, or anything else that fits your brand. See Affiliate Links. |
| Affiliate Disclosure Text | Rich-text disclaimer shown in disclosure popovers across product pages. FTC compliance is a strict requirement in many regions - don't leave this empty. |
Fonts
Two slots, picked from the bundled font set:
| Field | What it controls |
|---|---|
| Heading Font | Used on H1-H6 throughout the site. |
| Content Font | Used on paragraph + UI text. |
Bundled fonts: Inter, Inter Tight, Manrope, Plus Jakarta Sans, Outfit, DM Sans, Sora, Space Grotesk, Geist.
Font pairing
Pick contrasting fonts - e.g. Inter Tight headings + Inter body. The same font for both reads fine but is less visually interesting. The demo importer applies a random pairing each run if you want to A/B test pairings.
Social links
A repeater of {Platform, URL} rows surfaced in the footer and (optionally) in the navigation. Supported platforms include Twitter / X, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, Telegram, Pinterest. An Email field is also available for a mailto: row.
Post slugs
Override the slug used in URLs for the Author and Blog post types:
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Author Slug | Default author. Change if you want /reviewers/{name}/ instead of /author/{name}/. |
| Blog Slug | Default blog. Change to whatever fits your IA (articles, news, posts). |
Save permalinks (Settings → Permalinks) after changing slugs to flush the rewrite cache.
Archive pages
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Authors Archive Page | Pick a page used as the landing page for /{author-slug}/. Lets you add intro copy / blocks on top of the auto-generated author grid. |
| Blog Archive Page | Same idea for the blog index. |
Analytics / cookie notice
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Show Cookie Notice | Toggle the built-in cookie consent banner. Copy is editable in Strings. |
| Google Tag Manager ID | Drops the GTM snippet site-wide. |
| GA4 | GA4 measurement ID. Embedded only if no GTM ID is set, so you can use either without doubling up. |
Footer tab
Footer-specific content. The Footer style is picked on the Layout tab; this tab is for what goes inside it.
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Footer Logo | Lighter variant of your site logo for footer backgrounds. Falls back to the main logo if empty. |
| Footer Text | Short descriptive line under the footer logo (1-2 sentences). |
| Footer Copyright Text | Bottom-bar copyright line. Supports {year} and {site_name} placeholders. |
| Footer Images | Repeater of {Image, URL} rows - payment provider logos, trust badges, partner marks. Each image links out to the URL you set. |
Layout tab
Layout controls the structural pieces of every page: navigation, hero, blocks spacing, footer style.
Navigation
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Transparent Navigation | Renders the nav as a transparent overlay on top of the hero. The hero compensates with extra top padding so content lines up. |
| Navigation Alignment | Where the menu sits relative to the logo. |
Hero
Global background imagery applied to every hero unless overridden per-page in the Hero field group.
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Page Background Image + Use Overlay + Overlay Color + Overlay Opacity | Default hero background for the page post type. |
| Product Background Image + overlay fields | Same set, but for products. |
| Blog Background Image + overlay fields | Same set, but for blog posts. |
| Heading Font Size | Small / Default / Large preset for the hero H1. |
| Text Font Size | Small / Default / Large preset for the hero body copy. |
Blocks
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Blocks Spacing | Vertical rhythm between blocks - tight / default / loose. |
| Block Title Placement | Where the block title sits relative to its content. |
| Block Title Separator | Optional separator line under block titles. |
Footer
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Footer Style | Style preset for the footer layout. Footer content (logo, text, copyright, images) is on the Footer tab. |
License tab
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| License Key | Paste your KrafterSuite license key here to activate updates and licensed features (demo importer, advanced blocks). See Theme Update for the upgrade flow. |
Demo Setup tab
Hosts the Demo Importer wizard - a 3-step seeder that turns a fresh install into a fully populated review site. Available once the license is active. The full walkthrough lives in Demo Importer.
