Navigation Menus
The main navigation menu is built in WordPress under Appearance → Menus and assigned to the Primary Menu location. Each menu item has extra theme options, and the desktop dropdown can be displayed in two styles.
Creating a Menu
- Go to Appearance → Menus.
- Create a new menu (or edit an existing one) and add your pages, custom links, or other items.
- Drag items beneath a top-level item to create sub-items (a dropdown). For the Style 2 mega menu you can nest a third level beneath those sub-items.
- Under Menu Settings → Display location, assign the menu to Primary Menu and save.
Menu Item Options
Expand any item in the primary menu to access these theme fields:
- Icon - An image shown before the item label. Recommended size 80×80px.
- Description - Short text shown beneath the item label in the mega menu dropdown. Optional.
- Column Break After - Starts a new column after this item, turning the dropdown into a mega menu (desktop only). Mobile navigation is unaffected.
- Column Title - A heading shown above the column. Only applies when Column Break After is enabled.
Mega Menu Style
Set under Theme Settings → Layout → Navigation → Mega Menu Style. This controls the desktop dropdown layout only; mobile navigation is unaffected.
Style 1 (default)
Classic dropdown. A top-level item with sub-items shows a simple vertical dropdown. Adding one or more Column Break After items turns the dropdown into a row-based mega menu, with each column optionally headed by a Column Title.
Style 2
A column-based mega menu designed for richer navigation:
- Sub-items can show a Description beneath their label.
- A sub-item that has its own third-level items shows a chevron that expands those items inline when clicked.
- When the menu uses Column Break After, the panel spans the full width of the navigation and arranges items into side-by-side columns (with Column Title headings).
- When there are no column breaks, the panel is shown as a compact dropdown under the item instead of full width.
Mobile Navigation
On mobile, every style uses the same accordion menu. Top-level items with sub-items expand on tap, column titles act as group headings, and any third-level items expand as a nested accordion. Menu item icons are shown; descriptions are not.
Footer Menus
The footer menu locations (Footer 1–4) support the Icon field on each item, shown before the label.
